What Parents Say

Hear from families who are part of The Capstone School community.

In a time where abundant information is readily available, we need to prepare our children with critical thinking skills, innovative problem solving abilities and creative thinking. The fast-paced, content driven nature of the current CAPS Education system in South Africa concerns me as I don’t believe it is the best way to prepare our children for the dynamic and multi-faceted future awaiting them. Which is why, when I heard about The Capstone School, with their Reggio Emilia approach to learning, I knew that no matter what, I had to make a plan for my children to attend this school. And it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have watched both my children thrive under the care of The Capstone Teachers, and I have seen how they have grown in their creative freedom and in their abilities to ‘think out of the box’ and find their own solutions. I am overwhelmed with gratitude when I watch their love for learning and discovery flourish. My children’s self-esteem continues to grow as they are encouraged to think in their own creative ways and as they experience again and again, the truth that they are more than capable and can achieve their goals. A year ago, I had no idea what I was going to do as I did not want my kids to go through mainstream schooling, but homeschooling wasn’t an option for me either. The Capstone School has been the most incredible answer to prayer — kids who love school, love learning and are free to develop into their full creative potential.

Dr Samantha Leonard, PhD Education

We are so fortunate and blessed to be associated with Capstone. Capstone is not just a school. Capstone is a safe haven where children can discover the wonderful world of learning — in an environment where they are valued for WHO they are, where uniqueness is celebrated and embraced, and above all — where they are loved. They are challenged to think creatively and dare to ask questions — not just accept everything at eye value. They are taught what it is to be respectful, considerate human beings and make a difference in the environment they are in. Learning should be fun and magical and that is what Capstone offers my children. True, out-of-the-box education! I will forever be indebted to Jacqui and her team for what they mean to my children.
