About The Capstone School

The Capstone School, originally named Children’s World, is an independent Christian School, currently situated on its new campus on Heatherbank Farm. Since its founding in 1997, the school has steadily built a strong reputation for the excellence of its programs and the character of its school community. Over the past 19 years a number of our past pupils went on to be elected to top leadership positions and achieve top academic honours in the region.

In response to ongoing requests from parents and the community, the governing body elected to position the school as a provider of both pre-primary and primary education. The first cohort of primary pupils was enrolled in 2016. Integral to this transition, the expanded school relocated in 2017 to its new campus on Heatherbank Farm. Along with the pre-primary phase, Grade 00 to Grade R, the foundation primary phase, Grade 1 to Grade 3 classes were on offer in 2017, while the Grade 4 to Grade 7 classes are to be rolled out incremetally until 2020.

The Capstone School’s beautiful new campus is enhanced by the abundance of trees, open spaces, where Egyptian geese play on the lawns and horses feed in the meadow. The beauty, history and traditions of Heatherbank Farm combine with the new to create a different, peaceful teaching-learning environment where our pupils can grow their own vegetables and learn through the environment. The Capstone School is housed in the original homestead of the Lovemore family, sheltered between giant Fig trees and a beautiful pond in the heart of Port Elizabeth.
